Invitation to Collaborate on Key Projects

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all those who have already signed up and participated in the different DC Projects with an emphasis on diversity, equity and inclusion in leadership. Your enthusiasm and commitment to our shared goals are truly inspiring.
1. Career Pathways

  • Objective: Developing a guide for school-based mentoring projects aimed at educators in early or middle management stages of their careers. This initiative aims to address challenges such as stereotypes hindering certain individuals’ leadership roles.
  • Project Lead: Madeleine Maceda-Heide
2. BIPOC Voices

  • Objective: Documenting stories of BIPOC leaders to amplify their experiences, successes, and challenges. This project seeks to raise awareness about the unique challenges faced by BIPOC leaders while avoiding the perpetuation of false narratives.

3. Bank of DEIJ Survey Questions

  • Objective: Compiling a repository of questions for schools to assess their DEIJ efforts. Drawing inspiration from existing frameworks, this initiative aims to provide a comprehensive resource that enhances equity evaluation in educational settings.

The Foundational Institute is designed to provide flexible, collaborative, sustained learning engagements for international education leaders and ultimately to effect systemic transformative action to ensure equitable and just learning environments for all students and adults. The guide is a product of AISA’s “Wellbeing for All” programme, which seeks to enhance the effectiveness of member schools in supporting and embodying diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice (DEIJ) and mental health for all educators and students, promoting a sense of belonging.

We Can't Teach What We Don't Know: Building a Conceptual Understanding of DEI or Missteps

In this interactive session, school leaders, HR professionals, and educators will reflect on how to use Cultural Competence Scorecards to manage bias and close diversity gaps within their organizations. Participants will explore six specific areas: Job Postings, Recruitment, Hiring, Onboarding, Retention, and Offboarding. Through the application of these scorecards, participants will examine real-world scenarios and artifacts to foster culturally competent hiring and recruitment processes. This session aims to equip all participants with actionable strategies to increase and advocate for cultural competence, not only in hiring and recruitment but also in retention, onboarding, and offboarding processes.
