Invitation to Collaborate on Key Projects
from the Diversity Collaborative Team of Facilitators
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all those who have already signed up and participated in the different DC Projects with an emphasis on diversity, equity and inclusion in leadership. Your enthusiasm and commitment to our shared goals are truly inspiring.
- Objective: Developing a guide for school-based mentoring projects aimed at educators in early or middle management stages of their careers. This initiative aims to address challenges such as stereotypes hindering certain individuals’ leadership roles.
- Project Lead: Madeleine Maceda-Heide
2. BIPOC Voices
- Objective: Documenting stories of BIPOC leaders to amplify their experiences, successes, and challenges. This project seeks to raise awareness about the unique challenges faced by BIPOC leaders while avoiding the perpetuation of false narratives.
- Project Leads: Adrienne Waller and Yasmine Aslam-Hashmi
3. Bank of DEIJ Survey Questions
- Objective: Compiling a repository of questions for schools to assess their DEIJ efforts. Drawing inspiration from existing frameworks, this initiative aims to provide a comprehensive resource that enhances equity evaluation in educational settings.
- Project Lead: Dr. Kimberley Daly
If any of these projects pique your interest, we encourage you to reach out directly to the project leads mentioned above. Your engagement and fresh perspectives are invaluable in propelling our projects forward.
Pathways for Transformation: Cultivating Intentional Change in Governance & Leadership
Thank you for joining us at our recent Diversity Collaborative meeting in February. We hope you found the session insightful and inspiring. Thank you to Dr. Peter Bateman, Elizabethe Imende-Cooney, and Dr. Dan Jubert who shared and represented the collective work of the Association of International Schools in Africa (AISA) leadership and community.
February Meeting Recording
You can access the recording here. Please feel free to revisit any key points or facilitate a dialogue with colleagues who couldn't attend. See attached summary and highlights.
We invite you to reflect on these insights and consider their resonance within your own teams: How can we leverage strategic catalyzation, establish urgency, and ensure that we measure what truly matters in our pursuit of diversity, equity, and inclusion?

Resources
Here is a great resource developed and published by the Association of International Schools in Africa with educators and leaders from within AISA and beyond as contributors: AISA DEIJ Guidebook: Pathways to Transformation.
There is a range of insights, tools, and scenarios that aim to support schools and organizations in their own journey of transformation.
