Katelyn’s Thoughts

Katlyn Darling joined the ISS EDULearn® Ask Me Anything Podcast team in August, but it feels like she’s been with us much longer. Her passion for education and her insightful contributions have quickly made her an integral part of our team. Katlyn had previously followed the work, and now, as a cohost, she brings her unique perspective to our discussions.

Katlyn shares, “Although I’ve only been part of the ISS EDULearn Ask Me Anything Podcast team since August, it feels like I’ve known Mike Pierre and Dr. Dana Specker Watts for much longer. Their voices have been a guiding force for me as an educator, and joining the podcast has truly been a dream come true.

What sets this podcast apart is the depth and relevance of the conversations. Mike and Dana create a brave discussion space for insightful thought leaders in education, creating a home for provocative and inspiring dialogue. These conversations serve as a much-needed lighthouse for educators, offering hope and timely direction for the wide array of challenges educators face.

On a personal level, I’ve been profoundly inspired by the topics and guests featured. Long before I was invited to join the team, I was a fan. In particular, I can remember listening to an epsidoe with Joel Jr Llaban during my summer break two years ago. His discussion on the importance of developing a culturally responsive and sustaining learning environment  gave me the confidence to open my curriculum and look at it critically, learning alongside my students how to create a community that reflects and includes all of us.”

Celiah’s Thoughts

Celiah Bunsie, another valued cohost, brings a wealth of experience and enthusiasm to the podcast. Her favorite episode features Brian Lalor. Celiah’s ability to connect with guests and draw out their stories adds a dynamic element to our podcast.

Celiah reflects, “My favorite AMA episode is with Brian Lalor, where he shares his international school teaching journey. I think when others hear about this experience from people who have lived it, they are more open to giving it a chance and letting go of some of the fear behind taking the plunge. It was my second or so episode as a cohost, and I really enjoyed Brian’s openness and energy throughout the interview.”

Join us as we explore these exciting topics and envision the future of education together. Let’s continue to learn, grow, and make a difference in the world of international education. Stay tuned, stay curious, and let’s shape the future of education!
