About the ISS Mary Anne Haas Women’s Symposium
Since 2002, the ISS Mary Anne Haas Women’s Symposium has helped advance women educators in leadership in international schools while providing important role models for future generations of leaders.
Each year, women leaders from international schools gather to discuss the context for women’s leadership, network with peers, and continue their professional growth through workshops, conversation, reflection, and shared learning.
The Symposium honors the legacy of Mary Anne Haas and continues ISS’s commitment to helping international education move forward through connection, leadership, and community.

Advancing Women’s Leadership in International Schools
Representation in international school leadership has grown, but there is still more progress to make. The current ISS page notes that the percentage of women heads at international schools has increased from 27% to 33% over the past decade, according to AISH data.
ISS Women’s Leadership supports that progress by helping women leaders build networks, deepen professional learning, access resources, and remain connected to a global community committed to lifting one another up.
