Create a Pocket Passenger

Inspired by ISS alumni Jeff’s Pabotoy @legoglobetrotter and the Flat Stanley Project, we’re inviting students around the world to design a cast of characters ready to travel the world! If you could create a pocket-sized companion, what kind of character would you bring along to experience the world with you?  Download the template, put your ideas to paper, and submit your designs for consideration by May 31, 2019.

We’ll be sharing student drawings and stories across our social media and #ISSedu community. Once we have our top cast of Pocket Passengers assembled, the next chapter of the adventure begins! ISS team members travel all over the globe during the school year — this season, they’ll bring along our students’ Pocket Passengers and send pictures of them in cities and landscapes around the world. Where will your character go?

More details: You don’t need to be at an ISS school to participate — we welcome student creators from around the world! Chosen Pocket Passenger designs will be printed into 4 inches wide by 5.25 inches high postcards (10.2 cm wide by 13.3 cm high). Characters of all kinds are welcome, and there are no restrictions on the type of artistic materials you use to create them (paints, pencils, crayons, iPad, etc). Please stay inside the dotted gray lines of the template to leave space for the ISS logo and for a hand to hold the edge of your design when we take your Pocket Passenger’s picture. We’ll be sharing designs across our social media and our #ISSedu community; the art of top characters will be distributed to our ISS team to pose in photos in their year ahead of traveling the world.

Please submit your design using the form below by May 31, 2019. Our team will be in touch via email to confirm we received your files, and about selection and future use. If you have any questions, just email us at socialmedia@ISS.edu. Have fun, be bold, and let your imagination take flight!
