Introduction

Welcome to https://www.iss.edu, the website of International Schools Services (“ISS”,“we,” “us”, “our”).

We respect the privacy of the users of our website and are committed to protecting personal information according to data protection laws and best practices.

ISS is a non-profit education services organization that primarily serves the international school community.  We provide recruitment, supply, accounting, and management services to that community.  This document focuses on our employees that are hired to work in our owned or managed schools.

How we collect and use personal information

We use the personal information we collect from the payroll forms completed by the employees of organization specifically to process salary payments, benefit benefits and to enroll in benefits:

  • to administer payroll
  • to administer payroll tax payments
  • to administer employee benefits
  • to purchase and arrange airline travel related to job

Categories of personally identifiable data include information in a standard curriculum vitae (such as photos, name, address, telephone number, email address, employment history, education and other qualifications, languages and other skills). It may also include, without limitation: age, nationality, and assessments from third parties. It is not our policy to seek any sensitive information through our website for our own use unless legally required for payroll processing. Our records derive from information collected directly from you, and employer references.

We may provide information to third party service providers who process information on our behalf to help run some of our internal business operations including payroll and benefit processing, email distribution, IT services, and customer services.

We may from time to time be required to disclose information about you to the I.R.S. or third parties under a legal requirement or court order. We act responsibly and take account of your interests when responding to any such requests.

Under no circumstances do we sell or share personal information with any other organization that is not directly involved in the hiring process.

Data security

Protecting your Personal Information is important to us. We use appropriate technical and organizational measures and safeguards designed to help prevent unauthorized access, unlawful processing, and unauthorized or accidental loss of your personal information.

All sections of this website where personal information is submitted or exchanged include encryption of your communication with us over the website based on the Secure Socket Layer (SSL) protocol.

While ISS does protect your data in our systems and during transit, we often have no control over the physical security of your data once it is in the hands of a recruiter. Recruiters often share information with other recruiters and school management, as part of their hiring processes. We ask that you understand this risk before considering a membership with ISS, and cancel your membership if at any time you become uncomfortable with our terms.

ISS uses email to communicate with Employees.

Keeping your information

We keep employee records records the length of your active employment plus six years. When your personal information exceeds this period or is no longer needed or required, we will ensure it is securely disposed of. Where required by applicable law we will notify you when such information has been disposed of.

Your rights

You have the right to withdraw your consent at any time or to access and request that we rectify or remove your personal information from our system(s). Local laws may give you additional rights, such as the right to request the information in your file, in a commonly readable format, at any time.

If you need assistance accessing, updating, correcting or removing your personal information from our System, or if you no longer desire our services, please complete the form below. Please note that we will request proof of identity prior to acting on any request.

In certain circumstances (for example where required or permitted by law) we might not be able to provide you with access to some of your personal information, but where appropriate we will notify you of the reasons for this.
