Dr. Dale Cox  •  ISS Vice President, Asia-Pacific

Dale received his doctorate in educational leadership from Lehigh University, his M.Ed. in educational administration from Arizona State University, and his B.A. in history from Brigham Young University. He worked for 25 years in public education in the United States before becoming an international school administrator in Beijing in 2006. He has served as the Vice President of the Board of Trustees of the Association of China and Mongolia International Schools and has presented and trained on teacher recruitment, school improvement, learning innovation, board governance, and school leadership. Having lived in Asia in his youth, he is fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese.



Emily Cave  •  Director, NCIC Immersion School, Shenzhen, China

Emily has worked in Education in both the US and overseas for the past 15 years. In 2016 she became the founding Director of NCIC Immersion School, an ISS Joint Venture School in Shenzhen, China. Emily started her career as a primary school Reading teacher in Iowa before making the leap to an international classroom. She spent 7 years at Colegio Internacional Puerto La Cruz in Venezuela, transitioning from Primary teacher to Literacy Coach before being named Principal in 2014. Emily earned her undergrad in Elementary Education from the University of Iowa and holds a Master’s Degree in Collaborative Teaching and Learning.



Dr. Edward Greene  •  Director, International School of Amsterdam, Amsterdam, Netherlands

Dr. Greene has led the International School of Amsterdam for the past 14 years, but he started his career in education in 1976 in La Paz, Bolivia. In between there has been a wide array of adventures from India to Brazil with several stops in the USA. Dr. Greene has served schools in the capacity of English teacher, IB Coordinator, Director of Development, Principal, and Director of the Louisiana State University Laboratory School as well as serving as Director of his current school. He is past-President of AAIE, a member of the AAIE Hall of Fame and served as Board Chair of ECIS for many years. He has earned a doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of Florida and studied Independent School Leadership at Columbia University.



Jim Laney  •  Director, American Embassy School, New Delhi, India

Jim became the Director of the American Embassy school in 2017. Prior to that, he was Head of School at the International Community School (ICS) of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia since 2010. He has also been an Elementary, Middle and High School Principal, a Finance Director and a Technology Director. Jim began his teaching career as a Peace Corps volunteer in Kenya followed by two years teaching math and computer science in Brooklyn, New York. Highlights of his international career include teaching and admin positions at the International School of Cyprus, Taipei American School, and the American School of Warsaw. Jim has a BSc in Computer Systems Engineering from Oregon Tech and an MA in science education from Teachers College, Columbia University. Jim raised two daughters in international schools and also has two adopted daughters living now in Oregon.



Rose Puffer  •  Superintendent, International School of Islamabad, Islamabad, Pakistan

Rose has served as Superintendent of The International School of Islamabad since 2005. From 1990 – 2005, she served in various positions as a teacher, Language Arts Coordinator, Middle School Principal, Secondary School Assistant Principal and Secondary School Principal at ISOI. She is currently in her twenty-sixth year at ISOI! Prior to joining ISOI, Ms. Puffer was an administrator at Colegio Franklin D. Roosevelt in Peru and she has held administrative positions at the Saudi Arabian International School – Riyadh, and at public, private and regional schools in New England, USA. Rose also works with the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools, one of the leading school accrediting agencies in the United States and is one of the founding officers and President of the International Baccalaureate Schools in Pakistan.
