Educational Staffing

Providing the most effective and efficient year-round placement services for international schools.

Since 1955, ISS has placed almost 15,000 teachers and administrators in overseas schools. Utilizing state-of-the-art candidate placement technologies and a personalized screening approach tailored to each school's needs, ISS is able to present the most qualified teaching and administrative candidates for service in international schools around the world. In addition to continuous year-round placement, ISS hosts three International Recruitment Centers (IRCs) in the United States each year. Recruiting administrators screen candidates using our computer search program, and conduct on-site interviews with experienced, highly qualified teaching and administrative candidates.

Why Recruit Staff Through ISS?

Throughout the year, schools recruiting through ISS can be confident of the following:

• Only candidates with strong professional credentials and the motivation to succeed in overseas work are accepted as ISS candidates.
• Teaching and administrative candidates are well-qualified, generally having at least two years of current full-time experience in their fields of specialization.
• Candidates' career documentation (including references, transcripts, and certificates) will be carefully verified by ISS.
• At least 30 percent of ISS candidates have experience working abroad.
Each year the ISS candidate pool includes more than 1,700 teachers and administrators in all fields of elementary and secondary education.

How Does Educational Staffing Work?

Schools use ISS placement services to fill staff vacancies in two ways:

  • Through our year-round search service
  • Via attendance at the ISS International Recruitment Centers (IRCs)

When a position search is requested,  ISS immediately screens our candidate database and notifies those best qualified for the opening. Simultaneously, full professional dossiers are forwarded to the recruiter for review.

What Is The Fee Structure?

Schools may choose to use our recruitment services via our comprehensive subscription plan or on a fee-for-service basis. Annual fees are based upon school enrollment and covers a comprehensive selection of ISS recruitment services:

  • Attendance at all ISS International Recruitment Centers (IRC's) scheduled during 2001 by any number of recruiting administrators representing the school.
  • Placement of one display advertisement in the November, January, March or May  issue of NewsLinks advertising your school.
  • Exclusive internet access to the Candidate Screening Program for each IRC. (Software will be sent on CD via express mail to those who do not have internet access.)
  • On-line advertising of the school's IRC position vacancies to ISS candidates, linking to the school's website.
  • One complimentary search conducted to identify candidates for a non-IRC position (excluding administrative positions); additional search requests  incur a reduced listing fee of $500 per position. (Non-subscribing school search fee is $1000).
  • Fall mailing of The Directory of Overseas Schools, 2001 edition (based upon previous year's subscription status).
  • Under this agreement, no placement fees will be assessed to the school or candidates hired.

Recruitment assistance is also available on a fee-for-service basis. Please contact ISS for a current fee schedule.

Services for Teaching and Administrative Candidates

Most candidates obtain their overseas teaching and administrative positions by attending our U.S.-based International Recruitment Centers (IRCs) where ISS candidates have the potential to interview with overseas school heads seeking new staff. The ISS International Recruitment Centers (IRCs) are a proven resource for school administrators seeking to fill teaching and administrative posts. ISS sponsors three IRCs annually, two in February/March and one in late June. Registration materials for the IRCs are sent to overseas schools each September.

Before requesting IRC registration materials, visit our Frequently Asked Questions about recruitment to see if you qualify as a candidate.
