Candidate Application/Reactivation Process
Guidelines for Completing the On-line Forms
Ninety Day Limit
Information posted to these forms may be modified by the applicant for a 90 day period prior to submission. If the forms are not completed and submitted at the end of that 90 day period, the information will be erased, and may not be retrieved at a later date.
Time Out after Twenty Minutes
If a twenty minute period of data entry passes without that data being saved (such as SAVE and CONTINUE, SAVE and ADD, SAVE and REVIEW, or SAVE and EXIT), the application will automatically "time out" and all unsaved data will be lost. To avoid this, on the bar that appears at the top and bottom of each page, press the section title (naming the highlighted section in which data is currently being entered.) This will save the information that has been entered thus far in the section.
If your application does time out, you must return to the log-in page and enter your candidate number and password to retrieve any data previously saved in other sections.
Accessing Forms
If access to any section or function appears to be slow, you may wish to press <STOP> on your browser toolbar and then try again.
Should you receive a message that a webpage is unavailable, please hold down the <SHIFT> key and press <REFRESH> or <RELOAD> on your browser toolbar and the page should then be available.
Moving Between Fields
The program you will be using works like most database programs in that you can move between information fields by either 1) clicking on the field you wish to enter or 2) using the tab keys; press <tab> once to move forward one field, press <shift> + <tab> to move back one field. It is recommended to use the tabbing method because you will be sure to move to each successive field.
Use the scroll bars to move left to right, or up and down, within a page.
Entering Information
Your responses may continue beyond the space allocated. If you exceed the allocated space, you will, in most cases, be able to continue typing, and the information will be saved.
Field Text Limits
Certain fields are limited to the amount of text that may be entered and have a limit noted above the field. Should these limits be exceeded, you may either receive an error message, or the information will not be saved upon completion of the section.
Punctuation Marks
Please do not use single quote marks, quotation marks or an apostrophe when entering text. These punctuation marks are recognized by the database as field delineators.
Error Messages
If you receive an error message, please press <Back> on your internet browser toolbar and then <Reload>.
Check your Data
Upon acceptance of an application, data is directly downloaded into the ISS candidate database. This information will then be formatted into a standard ISS resume for presentation to international school recruiters. Therefore, please check your forms for accuracy and thoroughness.
Submitting Your Application/Reactivation
Once your data has been submitted to ISS, you will no longer be able to retrieve your information for editing or further completion. Therefore, be sure you have finalized your application/reactivation before submitting your forms to ISS.
Thank you for completing your forms on-line. Should you have comments or questions about this process, please contact us:
