ISS GOVERNED SCHOOLS The mission of ISS-governed schools is to provide a comprehensive college preparatory accredited American/International educational program that ensures all students will become accomplished learners of good character while serving as responsible leaders within a culturally diverse global community.
OBJECTIVE ISS's objective is to establish and administer K-8 or K-12 college preparatory schools that offer an American/International curricula to meet the educational and developmental needs of U.S. and expatriate students. The program offerings may include Special Services and ESL to enable host country nationals and limited English language speakers to enroll. ISS-governed
schools follow a U.S. calendar, seek U.S. accreditation, and offer U.S.
standards based curricula and recognized exemplary instructional
strategies. A Board of
Directors established by ISS is responsible for decisions on programs,
policies and finances. An on-site
director with an experienced staff conducts the day-to-day operations
of the school, in partnership with an ISS home office executive. The goal of ISS schools is to provide an educational environment in which students develop a healthy self esteem, learn self-discipline, acquire knowledge and achieve skills competencies. They will also gain an understanding of their national heritages while recognizing their membership in a larger world community.
